Where's Kris at HG & SS?

Kris is a female character who was featured in Pokemon Crystal. She was a very popular character back then by the time Pokemon Crystal came out and so far, many Pokemon have admired her. Ever since Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver came out, an another female character by the name of Lyra have recently replaced Kris in the Pokemon game. In fact, Kris is nowhere featured or mentioned in Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver games at all. Now, since the Pokemon series has been changing so much, will Kris be ever featured in the next or future Pokemon games or what?

I think they just renamed her, and revamped her story a tad. I don't think she will ever be seen again to be honest and she is probably forgotten by gamefreak.
